Christmas light displays for families.
The best Christmas lights for kids in 28 US cities. Walk through zoo and garden lights, or stay warm in the car at a drive-through show.
There are 24 zoo light events and 30 drive-through shows here. Every display was checked on its official site for the 2026 season, with notes on ages, strollers, and booking.
Tips for going with kids
- With toddlers, go right when the lights open. It's dark by then, and you'll be home before bedtime.
- Drive-through shows let little ones stay in pajamas and car seats. Bring snacks and a full tank of gas.
- For walk-through displays, a carrier is often easier than a stroller on crowded paths.
- Many paid displays sell tickets for a set night or entry time. Book weekend nights ahead.
- Dress kids in warm layers, even in the South. You'll be outside after dark.
