Christmas in Boston with kids.
Christmas in Boston feels like an old New England holiday. The city lights its big tree on Boston Common, the Holiday Pops plays special kids' matinees, and Snowport turns the Seaport into a winter market.
Some of the best family picks are a short drive away: a Polar Express train on Cape Cod, a holiday village with train rides, and candlelit nights at Old Sturbridge Village. Dress for real cold.
Before you go
- The Holiday Pops kids' matinees start at 11am, a much easier time for little ones than evening concerts.
- Polar Express tickets can't be refunded, and lap seats for little kids may still have a fee.
- Snowport is free to enter, so it's an easy add-on after the Seaport's other sights.
- Several top events are outside the city. Plan a car for those days.
- Bring hats, mittens, and warm boots for any outdoor evening.
