Christmas in Seattle with kids.
Christmas in Seattle is cozy, wet, and full of lights. The Seattle Christmas Market fills Seattle Center, the zoo glows with giant lanterns, and Bellevue puts on a short, free holiday parade every night. And a lit-up boat brings a choir and Santa to waterfront parks.
Bring rain gear for everything outdoors. The holiday trains are some of the most popular events, so book those as soon as you can.
Before you go
- Book Santa trains and the Polar Express early. They tend to sell out.
- Christmas Market tickets cost much less in opening week than in mid-December.
- Lap rules differ by train. Check the age rule before you buy for a 2-year-old.
- Pack rain jackets and something reflective for dark paths at the light walks.
- At WildLanterns, start with the kids' area early in the evening while they still have energy.
